This is the site at which St. Patrick performed the first Christian Mass in Ireland. This you could say is an Irish Holy Site, with an Holy Well sure to be close by. This site holds a sad moment for me because while I was photographing this site, unknown to me at the time, the first tower of the World Trade Center was being struck by the first plane.When I finished the photo session at this site I had gotten into my car and drove off on my way to Knock, just over to the border to the next County of Sligo. When a news bulletin came over the radio saying that the second Tower had just been struck by another plane! I was able to make my way quickly to a television to see the tragic events unfold.You know the rest.
